In Goshamahal, as per the latest update, sitting BJP MLA T Raja Singh going to retain the seat. In the assembly segment, Raja Singh was fielding against BRS’s Nanda Kishore Vyas and Congress candidate Mogili Sunitha. Currently, Raja Singh is leading with 49875 votes where Nanda Kishore Vyas trailing with 31981 votes, and Mogili Sunitha comes distant third with 4168 votes. Goshamahal comprises a substantial Hindu migrant population, drawn from north India, and among them Lodhi community, an OBC community, to which Raja Singh belongs constitutes dominance.

Goshamahal is one of the 15 constituencies in Capital city of Hyderabad. In 2018 Assembly election, Raja Singh emerged victorious by securing 61,854 votes against TRS’s (now BRS) Prem Singh Rathore who came second with 44,120 votes. BJP leader won the election in 2014 also.

In Telangana, 119 seats of Telangana went for polls in a single phase on November 30. Telangana witnessed a three-cornered fight between BRS, Congress and BJP. In 2018 Assembly elections, BRS (then Telangana Rashtra Samithi) won 88 of the 119 seats, securing 46. 8 per cent of the vote share while Congress could gather only 19 seats with 28. 4 per cent vote share. In the elections, BRS has put up candidates for a total 119 seats, where Congress in 118 seats, and gave one seat to its ally CPI.
