When she was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Cooperation, and Disaster Management in the Hemant Soren cabinet, this development sparked discussions in Jharkhand’s political circles with many seeing it as a consolation prize after her Lok Sabha ticket was revoked.
Her journey to the ministerial post was paved by her initial selection and subsequent withdrawal from the Gonda Lok Sabha seat. Despite her Lok Sabha ticket being withdrawn she accepted the decision graciously and focused on her constituency. Her name topped the list for the ministerial position due to her dedication and low-key approach.
Mahagama constituency has approximately 297,227 total voters with 33,438 SC voters, 27,345 ST voters, and 101,057 Muslim voters. It is a legislative assembly constituency in Jharkhand covering Mahagama and Meherma Police Stations in Godda district. It’s part of the Godda Lok Sabha constituency and has been a significant seat in the state’s politics.
