Shanampudi Saidireddy is fielded as the BJP candidate from Nalgonda constituency. He was the MLA for Huzurnagar assembly constituency representing the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS, erstwhile TRS), before defeated by Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy of Congress in 2023 state assembly elections. He became the MLA for Huzurnagar assembly constituency after defeating the Congress candidate by a record margin in the by election in 2019.
Born in 1974, Saidireddy hails from the village of Mattampally Mandal in Suryapet District to Anki Reddy and Sathyavathi. He completed his schooling from Mattampally and took B.Sc from Priyadarshini college in Huzurnagar.
Saidireddy before entering to politics emigrated to Jamaica. Initially working as a lecturer, he joined the United Nations population fund as an IT Manager. He then moved to Canada and set up a successful restaurant business. He then started an Engineering college in Suryapet.
After returning back to India, he indulged himself in working on social issues in Telangana and in his native Huzurnagar. He mainly focused on youth development and women empowerment. To mobilise the youth in his native place, he even started a youth organisation under the name Sye.
His political career began in year 2018 when he was given the ticket by TRS to contest the election in 2018. However he had to face defeat by a narrow margin of 7000 votes. However in the subsequent by election held in 2019, he was again nominated and he won with a record margin of 43,000 votes.
Later he resigned from BRS and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 10 March 2024 in the presence of party”s General Secretary and Telangana state in-charge Tarun Chugh at central party headquarters in New Delhi ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
