The delayed release of candidates is expected to reduce the disappointment of the aspirant party members who have been dropped from the list.

Notably, the Congress has nominated several new faces for Haryana assembly elections, and the list includes RS MP Randeep Singh Surjewala’s son Aditya Surjewala from Kaithal, Hisar MP Jai Prakash’s son Vikas Saharan from Kalayat, Ambala MP Varun Chaudhary’s wife Pooja Chaudhary from Mulana (reserved), and former Haryana CM Bansi Lal’s son-in-law Sombir Singh Sheoran from Badhra.

Following the collapse of an alliance between the AAP and Congress, the battle has become intense in several constituencies. The JJP, BJP, AAP, and Congress have been fielding competing candidates as the deadline nears for filing nominations. In Julana constituency, the BJP has pitted Captain Yogesh Bairagi against Congress’ Vinesh Phogat, while the AAP and JJP fielded wrestler Kavita Dalal and sitting MLA Amarjeet Dhanda, respectively.

Last week, Congress had announced the list of 32 candidates, fielding former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit chief Udai Bhan from Hodal, and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana.
