Fourth Candidates List: AAP Fields Kavita Dalal Against Congress' Vinesh Phogat

Following the collapse of the alliance and seat-sharing talk with the Congress party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today released the fourth list of candidates for the Haryana assembly elections.

The party pitted Ex wrestler Kavita Dalal against Congress candidate and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from the Julana constituency, making the contest more unpredictable. The BJP has nominated former army man Captain Yogesh Bairagi while the JJP, the former ally of the saffron party, retained its sitting MLA, Amarjeet Dhanda. Congress candidate Phogat filed her nomination from the constituency today, and said she will work hard for the welfare of every section.

In its fourth list, other candidates include Sunil Bindal Karnal, Sham Mehta from Sirsa, Lalit Tyagi from Yamunanagar, Sanjay Satrodiya from Hisar and Nishant Anand from Gurgaon.

It is reported that the alliance failed as the Congress party could not offer the number and quality of the seats the AAP demanded. Talking about the issue,  AAP’s Haryana president Sushil Gupta said they have been preparing for all the 90 seats, noting that the last date for filing nominations is September 12. “So the wait is over,” the state AAP chief said, as Congress did not respond to its demands for alliance in the Haryana assembly elections.
