“I Thank PM Modi”: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari As BJP Is Set To Retain Power In Madhya Pradesh

“The people of the country have shown their mood through these elections”, said Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, on Sunday. He expressed delight to the media as BJP confirmed landslide victory in 2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections, with a clear margin. The party is about to form another government in the state and has crossed the halfway mark in the earlier trends itself. The counting is still in progress and the major leaders are all keeping a substantial vote margin.

“We got good success in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. People have supported our schemes”, said the minister. “I thank PM Modi, party President JP Nadda, party workers, people of these states”, he added. According to Mr Gadkari, development is about to happen at a faster pace in the states where BJP would win; “because a double-engine government will be formed”.

As per the recent trends provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is leading in 161 seats and Congress in 67 seats. Madhya Pradesh has a total number of 230 assembly constituencies and the state went the polling booths on November 17.

The BJP was expecting an easy win looking back to the state’s previous history. The sitting Chief Minister, Mr Chouhan, is there in the office since 2005, except a two-year break in 2018 to 2020. He is the longest-serving CM of Madhya Pradesh (4 times) and also the national Vice-President of BJP – a steadfast labourer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
