The poll result has been announced and JKNC has emerged as the largest winning party in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections 2024. The poll verdict will pave the way for Jammu and Kashmir’s first elected government since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Congress won a total of 6 seats in the assembly elections. In the Rajouri constituency, Iftkar Ahmed won against BJP candidate Vibod Kumar with a margin of 1404 votes. Rajouri went for election on September 25 in phase 2.
In the 2014 assembly elections, JKPDP candidate Qamar Hussain won with an overall 26,954 votes (30.63%). Whereas the BJP candidate Chowdhary Talib Hussain remained second by securing 24464 votes. In 2008, INC candidate Shabbir Ahmed Khan won the Rajouri seats by defeating the JKPDP candidate by securing 13.63% votes.
