The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kuldeep Raj Dubey has secured the Reasi constituency seat in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly election results 2024. Dubey defeated Indian National Congress candidate Mumtaz Ahmed with a total vote of 18815. Reasi constituency went for election on September 25, 2024, in phase 2.
This is the third consecutive term of BJP candidates. In the 2014 Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP candidate Ajay Nanda won from the Reasi seat garnering 22017 votes. Nanda defeated IND candidate Saraf Singh who got 20130 votes. The BJP secured 25.26% of the total votes. Also in 2008, the BJP secured the seat by defeating the INC candidate.
Reasi falls in the Reasi district of Kashmir. The reservation status of the constituency is General and it is part of the Jammu Lok Sabha constituency.
These candidates fought elections in the Reasi constituency – Arjun Singh (IND), Bashir Ud Din (JKNPPI), Bodh Raj Meania (PDP), Diksha Kaluria (IND), Kuldeep Raj Dubey (BJP), Mumtaz Ahmed (INC), Satish Mohan (BSP).
In the Jammu Kashmir Assembly election National Conference emerged as the largest wining party with 41 seattsfollowed by BJP which won 27 seats. The Congress, PDP and AAP won 6, 2 and 1 seats respectively.
