Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), by canceling the ticket of state general secretary Pradeep Verma, fielded Sanjay Seth as the saffron party’s candidate from the Ranchi seat. Sanjay Seth was included in the first candidate list consisting of 195 names from BJP.

Since 2019, Sanjay Seth has been elected as a member of the parliament from the Ranchi constituency. Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency is one among the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand. In the 2019 general election, Sanjay Seth won the seat against the Congress candidate Subodh Kant Sahay for 7,06,828 votes. Subodh has served as a two-time MP from the seat in the 2004 and 2009 general elections.

As per the report, it was said that Sanjay Seth was not included in the list of candidates sent by the state leaders. But the central leaders intervened and finalised Sanjay Seth’s name for the ticket.

The Ranchi MP last year pointed out the rising issue of the water crisis in the state and alleged that the Hemant Soren government is being silent on the issue. He then claimed that the people of the state are demanding a Yogi model government in the state.

The Daily Guardian last time surveyed the politician’s work in his constituency. And 73% of people voted in support of him and only 22% said no to the MP.
Sanjay Seth also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren demanding to declare January 22 as a state holiday and also to ban the sale of meat and liquor in the state on that day due to the consecration of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. He termed the day in Indian history for which the people have been awaiting for centuries.
