Keralam Polling Crosses 50% Mark: Voters Turn Out In Large Numbers As Assembly Elections Progress

Voting for the Kerala Legislative Assembly elections 2026 is progressing steadily, with voter turnout nearing the crucial 50% mark within the first six hours of polling across all 140 constituencies.

Polling, which began at 7 a.m., has witnessed enthusiastic participation from voters across urban and rural regions.

According to officials, the turnout reached approximately 49.7% by early afternoon, indicating a strong democratic response from the electorate.

The election, being conducted in a single phase, involves over 2.7 crore eligible voters. The contest features 883 candidates, making it one of the most closely watched political battles in recent years.
