Despite all stiff opposition from the party leaders and workers of the party, the BJP has fielded Ranjitsinh Naik Nimbalkar as its candidate from the Madha constituency. Nimbalkar was included in the second candidate list of the BJP.
Madha constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Ranjitsinh was elected as the MP from the constituency by defeating the NCP candidate for 5,86,314 votes.
Born in 1977, Ranjith Sinha hails from Pune. He is the son of former Shiva Sena MP Hindurao Naik Nimbalkar and is known to be a staunch opponent of the NCP leader Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar from Phaltan. Ranjit Singh and his father Hindurao were known as loyal Congress workers and close associates of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
Ranjith and his father were active members of the Congress party till 2019. Ranjinth Sinh has also served as the President of Congress in Satara. He shared a good relationship with the former chief minister and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan. And thus he served as the vice president of Krishna Kore Corporation.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, he insisted the Congress nominate him as the candidate. But later he joined the saffron party and contested the election in Madha. Though Madha was a stronghold of the NCP, Ranjitsinh won the election.
After announcing sitting MP Naik-Nimbalkar as the candidate for the Madha Lok Sabha seat in Western Maharashtra, protests erupted from the Mohite-Patil family and his followers in the constituency.
Fadnavis urged both Ranjitsinh Naik-Nimbalkar and Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil to bury their differences and work unitedly keeping PM Narendra Modi in mind. The 2024 Lok Sabha is about Viksit Bharat to get Modi reelected for the third term. Fadnavis stepped in to resolve the differences between the two BJP leaders Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil and Ranjitsinh Naik-Nimbalkar over the allocation of the Madha seat.
