BJP has decided to field the Manish Jaiswal from Hazaribagh constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Hazaribagh Sadar MLA has replaced Jayant Sinha, who has won the constituency with record majority during the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Jaiswal received a warm welcome with garlands by the BJP workers and supporters. The BJP followers expressed happiness of Jaiswal receiving tickets by distributing sweets and cracking fireworks. Jaiswal responded to the welcome by asking them to pave way for Prime Minister Modi’s third term. Expressing his happiness, Jaiswal said that his responsibilities has increased since the party has trusted him enough to field him for the Lok Sabha seat.

Manish Jaiswal grabbed headlines on December last year for conducting mass marriage of 25 couples in Hazaribagh. Jaiswal said it is just a beginning and efforts will be made to keep it happening every year. he said there was no caste restriction for the mass marriage and it is for all people. Reportedly, the MLA has also made employment arrangements for all the couples. While some are already employed, some were given Toto (Electron Tempu). Jaiswal also said that he got couples from Hazaribagh and those outside the district to tie knots during the mass marriage.

Another incident that made Jaiswal’s name resonate in headlines was the tearing of kurta incident during Ram Navami in March 2022. He tore his kurta protesting against the ban on DJ on Ram Navami. The incident happened while he was walking out of the House after protesting. As the government did not responded, he tore his kurta as a protest. Demanding the answer for, Jaiswal raised the question whether they live in the regime of Taliban, and is it a crime to be a Hindu in Jharkhand.
