Rajasthan Assembly Elections Result: BJP’ Gordhan Wins Dhod (SC) Constituency

BJP candidate Gordhan defeated Pema Ram of CPM in Dhod (SC) constituency of Rajasthan. Dhod (SC) witnessed a tough three-cornered fight between Gordhan (BJP), Pema Ram (CPM) and Indian National Congress (INC)’s Jagdish Prasad Danodia. Gordhan polled 85,543 votes while, Pema Ram came second with 72,165 votes. Congress candidate who came third has garnered 34,487 votes.

The Rajasthan assembly elections recorded a voter turnout of 75.45%, in the polling held across 199 of 200 assembly constituencies on November 25. The election for the remaining 1 seat has been adjourned. Dhod(SC) assembly constituency in Rajasthan is comes under Sikar district.

In 2008 assembly elections, CPM candidate Pema Ram had defeated Congress’s Parasram Mordia. Pema Ram was voted 47,840 votes and Parasram was voted 44,695 votes. Parasram lost by 3,145 votes. The Constituency had total 1,89,940 electors.

In 2013 assembly elections, BJP’s candidate Gordhan had defeated Pema Ram (CPM). Gordhan was voted 88,668 votes and Pema Ram was voted 43,597 votes. INC candidate Nopa Ram came third with 22,507 votes then. The constituency had 1,61,586 voters and 9 candidates.

In 2018, Parasram Mordia (INC) won with 75,142 votes. Pema Ram(CPM) stood second with 61,089 votes. This time, BJP candidate Gordhan came third with 46,667 votes. The total electors were 2,53,255 in 2018.

Overall, out of the total 199 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 115 seats and Indian National Congress is in second with 69 seats. BAP is currently at the third position in the total seat share. Along with Rajasthan, the assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of these four states have also been announced.
