Congress candidate Ramkesh defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Mansingh Gurjar in the Rajasthan Assembly elections. Ramkesh polled 83457 votes and BJP came second with 64189 votes. Independent candidate Chhote Lal Saini who came third has garnered 29679 votes.
The elections to Rajasthan State Assembly was held on November 25 for 199 seats. In the
previous assembly elections Ramkesh contested as independent candidate and won the elections. In 2013, Congress Durga Prasad won the election with 25077 votes. In 2008, assembly elections, BSP had defeated BJP”s Mansingh. BSP gathered 424547 whereas BJP received 31176 votes. The constituency had 171696 voters then. In 2003 , Congress defeated BJP, and at that time BJP polled 21151 votes while Congress won 25077 votes.
Along with Rajasthan, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.
