Bharatiya Janata party’s candidate Gopal Sharma defeated Indian national congress candidate Pratab Singh Khachariyavas. Civil Lines witnessed a tough fight between BJP and Congress. Gopal Sharma secured 98661 votes while, INC came second with 70332 votes. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Archit Gupta who came third has secured 1385 votes.
The Rajasthan State Assembly election was held on November 25 for 199 seats. Civil Lines is one of the 200 Legislative Assembly Constituencies of Rajasthan.
In 2018, Civil Lines constituency had 18 candidates, 2 of them were females. In this year, the total poll percentage was 69.32.
In the last year Assembly elections held in Civil Lines, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas of the INC won the elections. In 2018, Rajasthan Elections of Civil Lines recorded a votes turnout of 68.76%. In 2013, it was 72.35 while in 2008, it was 60.7.
In 2013 assembly elections, Arun Chaturvedi defeated Indian National Congress’s Pratap Singh Khachariyawas . Pratap secured 66,564 votes while Arun secured 77,693 votes.
In 2008, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas defeated Arun Ashok Lahoti. This time, BSP came third with 3,166. The total electors were 1,92,048 in 2008.
Overall, according to the latest reports, out of the total 199 seats, BJP won in 115 seats and INC is in second with 66 seats. Along with Rajasthan, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telengana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of three states was also announced on December 3 except for Mizoram.
