In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly election, Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Tikaram Jully won from Alwar Rural, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party”s (BJP) Jairam Jatav. Tikaram Jully got 1,08,584 votes, compared to Jairam Jatav’s 81,251. The Congress candidate”s margin of victory is 27333 votes. He is the current member of the Rajasthan legislative assembly from the Alwar Rural constituency in Alwar district. Jagadish Prasad of the Bahujan Samaj Party came in third with 1617 votes. The votes secured by Tikaram Jully are 108584, which is 55.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
In the 2023 Rajasthan assembly elections, there were a total of 2,60,415 eligible electors in the constituency, of which 1,37,660 were male and 1,22,755 were female, and registered voters were of the third gender. In the 2018 elections, Tikaram Jully of the INC won this seat by defeating Ramkishan of the BJP by a margin of 26,477. INC had a vote share of 49.14% in 2018 in this seat, and the BJP had a vote share of 33.97%.
In 2013, Jairam Jatav of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won this seat by beating Tikaram Jully of the Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 26,799. The BJP had a vote share of 42.42 percent in this seat on that occasion. Alwar Rural comprises the following areas of Alwar district in the Matsya region of Rajasthan: Tehsil Alwar, excluding municipal council Alwar; PC Alwar (Rural); PC Bhoogor; and PC Dwakari of IIRC Alwar. Notably, the voter turnout rate recorded in Alwar Rural for the 2023 Rajasthan assembly election is 74.62%, compared to 74.41% in 2018.
