Sanjana Jatav is the youngest candidate of Congress from the Bharatpur Lok Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. Despite the 25-year-old Jatav’s defeat in the 2023 assembly election from Kathumar constituency of Rajasthan’s Alwar district, the grand old party expresses confidence in her for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. In the 2023 assembly election, Jatav lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Ramesh Khedi over a margin of mere 409 votes.

Jatav is not only the youngest among the Congress candidate, she is also younger than the 15 BJP candidates announced from Rajasthan. If Jatav wins the election, she will be breaking the record of former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot in being the youngest candidate to win at the age of 26. In 2004 Pilot win the election and became the youngest MP.

Sanjana Jatav stepped into politics after completing her law studies. The Kathumar born young politician is married to Kaptan Singh, a Rajasthan police constable. After passing LLB, she also served as a member of Alwar District Council. Jatat is an active worker of the Indian National Congress in Rajasthan and is considered as the young face of the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. Reportedly, she entered into the good books of the authority after joining Priyanka Gandhi’s campaign Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon. As per the affidavit submitted to election commission of India, the total net worth of Jatav is said to be Rs 9,11,100 and her husband Kaptan Singh’s net worth is Rs 14,56,716, as per media report.
