Senior Leader Annie Raja CPI Candidate From Wayanad - Rahul Gandhi Is Incumbent

Communist Party of India (CPI) has announced candidates for Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad, Thrissur, and Mavelikara Lok Sabha seats in Kerala.

The left party, a constituent of Kerala-based Left Democratic Front (LDF) has said senior party leader Annie Raja will be its candidate from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, which is currently represented by Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi. Congress hasn”t announced its Wayanad candidate yet and party is still in talks with its biggest ally in the state, IUML, regarding the seat sharing negotiations, in which the latter is asking for its third seat, Wayanad.

“For such a long time, CPI – under the LDF alliance – is contesting on the four seats…This time also, the party has announced its candidates for all these four constituencies…In Kerala, the fight is between LDF and UDF. So, there is nothing new in that…Situation is the same, nothing has changed…,” Ms Raja told ANI.
