As the Sisra constituency of Haryana is witnessing a key battle between the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLR) and Congress, Gokul Seita of the grand old party is leading with 32603 votes.
Leading over 1546 votes, Congress seems to reign over the constituency nearly after a decade. And with this Gokul Seita is offering a tough contest to the sitting minister Gopal Kanda of BJP, who is trailing with 31057 votes.
The Sisra assembly is one of the watched contest in the Haryana assembly elections. And this time it witnessed a tough contest between the Congress and the HLP party. The HLP supremo, Goyal Kanda is seeking to retain his seat in this election. On the other hand BJP is likely to support Kanda, which resulted at the withdrawal of the BJP candidate, Rohtash Jangra as per the party’s instruction.
The constituency has a blend of Punjabi, Bagri, and Rajasthani culture. This constituency witnessed a inconsistent contest between various parties including independent candidates in its previous elections.
In the 2019 elections, Gopal Kanda won the Sirsa seat with a slim margin of 602 votes over Gokul Setia, who had then contested as an independent. It was a triangular contest then, with the BJP polling more than 30,000 votes, while the Congress could gather only 10,000 votes out of 1.42 lakh votes polled.
