Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary Nara Lokesh said on Monday that TDP and Jana Sena party will announce a joint manifesto on November 1 and start the campaign for the next elections. Mr Lokesh and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan met on Monday afternoon and their first joint action committee was held at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district. TDP is the prime opposition party in Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to Media after the meeting, Mr Lokesh said: “We will announce our joint plan of action on November 1, along with the manifesto and commence door-to-door campaigning.” He added that in the meeting TDP and Jana Sena leaders took three resolutions, which include criticising the alleged illegal arrest of TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, saving the people from the “wicked” rule of YSRCP and fight unitedly for the development of the state.

Mr Lokesh expressed confidence that the union of TDP and Jana Sena will definitely form government in the next assembly elections, and added that there will not be any kind of conflict between both parties. The next joint meeting will discuss the strategies and action plan on how to proceed. “Pawan Kalyan has extended unconditional support to the TDP in the 2014 elections as the newly-formed Andhra Pradesh was badly in need of an efficient leader,” Deccan Chronicle quotes TDP leader.

Actor-turned-politician Mr Kalyan said that his party will continue in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), but union with TDP is important to throw YSRCP(YSR Congress Party) in the election. He then added that in the next Joint Action Committee meeting, more details will be revealed.
