Telangana BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy along with Rajya Sabha MP Dr K Laxman met JanaSena party chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday.

The meeting took place at actor-turned-politician Mr Kalyan’s Hyderabad office, and discussed about the alliance ahead of the Assembly polls in the state.

A Press Release from JanaSena, quoting Mr Kalyan stated that “There will be clarity in a day or two on the pre-poll alliance.”

Janasena, which has association with BJP in Andhra Pradesh, is part of NDA.

Pawan Kalyan-led party worked for the success of the BJP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidates during the Assembly polls in 2014, and due to similar request from BJP, the party did not contest in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations (GHMC) elections, release said.

Mr Kalyan told the BJP leaders that there is a pressure from his party cadre to contest in at least 30 seats in Telangana.

On October 2, Mr Kalyan announced that his party will contest in 32 out of the 119 seats in the upcoming Telangana Assembly election.

The constituencies include Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Nagarkurnool, Vaira, Khammam, Munugodu, Quthubullapur, Serilingampally, Patancheru, Sanath nagar, Kothagudem, Uppal, Ashwaraopet, Palakurti, Narsampet, Station Ghanpur, Husnabad, Rama gundam, Jagityala, Nakirekal, Huzur nagar, Manthani, Kodada, Satthupalli, Warangal West, Warangal East, Malkajigiri, Khanapur, Medchal, Paleru, Illandu, and Madhira.

JanaSena Party was formed by Mr Kalyan on March 14, 2014. The party is based on two states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. On September 14, 2023 Mr Kalyan announced an alliance between his party and the TDP’s ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh legislative elections 2024.

Telangana will go to polls on November 30 and counting of the votes will takes place on December 3. The state will witness a strong three-way contest between Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the Congress and the BJP in the upcoming assembly election.
