Telangana Election Results: Adluri Laxman Kumar Secures Victory In Dharmapuri (SC) Assembly

Adluri Laxman Kumar of the Indian National Congress (INC) won the Dharmapuri Assembly Constituency in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. Adluri Laxman Kumar won with a dominating advantage of 91,393 votes, outnumbering his nearest challenger, Koppula Eshwar of the BRS, who received 69,354 votes.

The political stage for the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections was set on fire in Dharmapuri constituency, where important contenders such as S Kumar (BJP), Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Koppula Eshwar competed for supremacy, along with several independent candidates. The constituency saw a remarkable 79 percent voter turnout, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the election.

Rewinding to the 2018 elections in Dharmapuri, Eshwar Koppula of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won by a narrow majority of 441 votes over Adluri Laxman Kumar. This war for Dharmapuri is indelible in Telangana”s political history, and the 2023 elections have now added a new chapter to this political tale.

Dharmapuri, located inside the Jagtial district and part of the Peddapalli Lok Sabha seat, is one of three constituencies in the district. Koppula Eshwar, a TRS stalwart, has led Dharmapuri”s representation since its creation in 2009.

In 2018, Eshwar Koppula received 43 percent of the vote share with 70,579 votes, barely defeating Adluri Laxman Kumar, who received 42 percent with 70,138 votes. Koppula Eshwar won the 2014 elections with an 18,679-vote margin over Adluri Laxman Kumar.
