Wazipur Election Result: Poonam Sharma Of BJP Leads

In the Wazipur constituency, Poonam Sharma of the BJP party is leading with  33,829 votes, while AAP’s Rajesh Gupta is trailing with 24,130 votes.

BJP’s Poonam Sharma is leading with a margin of 11,361 votes in the Wazirpur constituency, which was a stronghold of the AAP party for over a decade and is now witnessing a major political shift.

Aiming to end the decade-long victory of the AAP party, BJP fielded Poonam Sharma by replacing Mahander Nagpal, who represented the constituency for the past two elections.

The Wazirpur constituency, a major commercial and industrial hub, is located in North Delhi and is part of the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency. It hosts multiple industries, including automotive, electronics, and textiles. The Wazirpur constituency is a general seat.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Rajesh Gupta won the seat by over 11,000 votes after securing 57,331 votes. Mahendra Nagpal of the BJP was second with 45,641 votes, while Congress’ Harikishan Jindal received only 3,501 votes.

In 2015, Gupta registered a win from the Wazirpur seat after securing 61,208 votes. Mahendra Nagpal of BJP was second with 39,164 votes, followed by Congress’s Hari Shankar Gupta, who received only 8,371 votes.
