Actor-Comedian Kapil Sharma Expresses Discontent With IndiGo's Delayed Departure

Passengers often turn to social media to voice their grievances regarding flight delays and poor airport and in-flight services. If it is celebrities on the receiving end of such bad treatment from the flyers or the airports, the complaints get amplified quickly and such incidents draw attention to the challenges faced by the aviation industry in maintaining customer satisfaction, especially during instances of delays. In one such instance, in a recent social media post, popular comedian and film star Kapil Sharma voiced his frustration over a series of inconveniences he faced while awaiting departure on an IndiGo flight. The incident unfolded as passengers, including the Firangi star, experienced delays and apparent communication lapses.

In a tweet directed at the airline, Kapil Sharma wrote, “Dear @IndiGo6E, first you made us wait in the bus for 50 min, and now your team is saying the pilot is stuck in traffic. What? Really? We were supposed to take off by 8 pm, and it’s 9:20; still, there is no pilot in the cockpit. Do you think these 180 passengers will fly with Indigo again? Never  #Indigo6E5149 #Shameless.”

Details of the airport and and to where the actor is headed to is not mentioned on his tweet. However, information from flight trackers shows that the flight is scheduled from Chennai to Madras and it is yet to take off.

Later, the actor shared information about de-boarding and said the passengers have been told the the flyer is preparing another aircraft for them.

The tweet highlighted the comedian”s discontent with the airline”s handling of the situation, shedding light on the inconvenience caused to the passengers on the specified flight, 6E 5149.

IndiGo has yet to officially respond to Kapil Sharma”s public criticism. However, the comedian”s tweet has sparked discussions on social media platforms, with some users sharing similar experiences and expressing concerns about the airline”s punctuality and customer service.

Earlier in the day, former union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concerns about a passenger who was denied boarding due to overbooking and has not received any refund.

“I have the boarding pass of a student-passenger who had a ticket to fly from city X to city Y. At the boarding gate, he and two other passengers were “off-loaded” because the airline had “overbooked” passengers on the flight! He was not offered refund of the fare or compensation for his loss of travel and the inconvenience. I am curious to know if other passengers had faced the same situation. I am also curious to know if DGCA has any rules that deal with such a situation,” P Chidambaram wrote.

However, the politician hasn”t mentioned from which flyer and airport he endured this experience.
