Actor Vinayakan Arrested For Drunken Misconduct At Hotel; Later Released On Bail (Image-Instagram/actorvinayakan)
Malayalam actor Vinyakan, best known for his role in blockbuster films like Jailer and Marco, was arrested in Kerala on Thursday for allegedly creating a ruckus outside a hotel under the influence of alcohol.
The incident reportedly occurred at a hotel in Anchalumoodu, Kollam, where he had been staying since May 2 for a film shoot. The actor was taken into custody on May 8 after he caused a scene with the hotel authorities upon being asked to complete the checkout formalities.
As per reports, the actor, who has been staying in the hotel for a while, screamed at the hotel authorities and others under the influence of alcohol. After the hotel staff called the cops, the police arrived and took Vinayakan into custody.

The actor was taken for a medical checkup and then brought to the station by the police. A case was filed against the actor under section 118(a) (found in a public place in an intoxicated manner) of the Kerala Police Act at the Anchalummoodu station.
However, the Marco actor was later released on station bail after one of his associates provided surety. The visuals of the actor shouting aggressively at the police officials inside the station were widely shared on social media.
Notably, it’s not the first time Vinakayan has landed in trouble for his inappropriate behaviour. The actor has been constantly making headlines for similar controversies. Earlier this year, a viral video showed him hurling abuse from his balcony at a neighbour. The video also features the actor engaging in indecent behaviour by removing his mundu (dhoti) and flashing himself. Vinayakan issued an apology after receiving severe online criticism.

In 2024, the actor was taken into custody for creating a ruckus at the domestic transfer area of the Hyderabad airport under the influence of alcohol. Vinayakan then had a verbal argument with the CISF official who tried to settle the issue.
On the work front, Vinayakan was last seen in the comedy entertainer Thekku Vadakku, starring Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead. The Jailer actor will be next seen in Mammootty’s thriller film Kalamkaval.
