The recent promotional event of the film Gangs of Godavari stormed the internet as the actress Anjali was pushed by Nandamuri Balakrishna on stage. Among the various opinions on this issue, the Navarasa actress broke her silence as she tweeted in this regard.

In the promotional event of the upcoming action drama Gangs of Godavari the chief guest Nandamuri Balakrishna, the Telugu actor and director, who was popularly known as Balayya, was seen shoving off the actress Anjali on the stage. The video of him pushing the actress Anjali went viral on social media, and he was highly backlashed for his behavior, as people grew negative opinions towards this.

The Navarasa actress has finally broken her silence, through her tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter) where she also shared a highlights video from the event, along with her tweet which included the visuals of Balakrishna pushing her, stating “I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other and We share a great friendship for a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again”

This issue created different opinions among the public and previously, Hansal Mehta, a filmmaker shared the clip on X and wrote, “Who is this scumbag?” Later, singer Chinmayi Sripaada expressed her opinion on the incident and addressed those who pointed out Anjali’s laughter from the video. She wrote, “One of the biggest problems which I notice from people sharing this ‘Look at her laughing. She should have _____’ 1. It is NOT possible to respond according to your spectator response as you watch this on your device. This most moral policing, holier than thou – pure as the driven snow – Harishchandra /Sri Ramachandramoorthy or their relative incarnates will fail to understand. 2. Society itself refuses to hold men in power who misbehave responsible; Especially when they come from money, caste, and political power. Don’t come and tell women what to say and how to behave when you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.”

As these opinions of the public have driven this issue into a serious discussion, the tweet of the actress also raised concerns of the public when a personality mentioned it saying “Felt quite bad seeing this. This is what women have to endure in many industries especially ones like the film industry. Balayya is a repeat offender- and his clout just makes him invincible. And yes, to fans who will descend here, I saw the high five after the push”
