The day after actor-model Poonam Pandey“s death stunt shocked the world, the new catchphrase #DoitLikePoonamPandey is trending on social media. A day after her team claimed that she died of cervical cancer, Poonam Pandey appeared on Instagram and said that she faked her “demise” to spread awareness about the disease.

Many users on the X creatively used the hashtag “#DoitLikePoonamPandey” to bring into notice some of the ridiculous or criticism-worthy incidents that caught national attention in the past and mocked the “awareness” Poonam Pandey claimed to evoke.

It was in December 2022, BJP”s Bengaluru South MP, Tejasvi Surya has accidentally opened the emergency door of an IndiGo aircraft during the boarding process as the plane was on the airstrip. The news hit the headlines then, and referring the incident, an X user name Asgar wrote: “Tejasvi Surya opened the emergency exit to raise awareness about breathing fresh air”.

Similarly, a parody account called Rofl Gandhi 2.0, sharing the images of long queue before banks during the time of demonetisation, wrote: “PM Modi did this to create awareness about fake currency notes”.

During the time of Corona Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made an appeal to the people across the country to came out and make noises through clapping and beating utensils to show gratitude for the health workers for their fight. Taking inspiration from the event, another user named Reshma Jagtap, sharing a GIF (Graphic Interchange Format) of a lady banging two vessels, wrote on X: “PM Modi did this to create awareness about Corona.”
