Prime Video has officially released the trailer of Angry Young Men, the documentary on the legendary writer duo of Bollywood Salim-Javed. The trailer offers a glimpse of the nostalgia that the audience will experience.

The documentary series is about to explore the story of the writer duo who created the archetype of the “angry young man” in the Hindi film industry. Scheduled to be released on August 20, this documentary stars Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar, Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Arbaaz Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Zoya Akhtar, among others.

Sharing the trailer, Salman wrote, “Salim Javed: bold, daring, and revolutionary.

The trailer of this visionary story begins with Salman revealing that he is “nervous” for the first time about facing the camera for a series that delves deeply into his father’s life. The trailer also calls them, “The two visionary writers who redefined Hindi cinema.”

With various personalities of Bollywood acclaiming the duo’s work, the documentary is expected to uncover various hidden stories behind the writers. It also highlights the importance of a writer in filmmaking as Aamir Khan states, “Can you name a writer whose name alone can draw the audience today?”

Observing the epic history of the writers, Karan Johar said, “If a writer says that he wants to crore more than Salman Khan and that’s the power of Salim and Javed.”

And most interestingly, the trailer offers the question: why did Salim-Javed end their partnership? The documentary seems to answer this with its release.

Produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, the series is produced by Salma Khan, Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti, and marks the directorial debut of Namrata Rao. On the trailer launch, Javed Akhtar also expresses his interest in collaborating with Salim again stating, “We are going to write now.”
