Japanese voice actor Junko Hori, who was the voice behind the famous cartoon show, Ninja Hattori, died on November 18. The prominent voice artist was 89 years old at the time of her passing.

The management label released a late notice of the actress’ demise due to the wishes of her grieving family, requesting privacy at this difficult time. The official announcement also revealed that the funeral was held only for close relatives. Moreover, Fans have been advised to refrain from visiting the funeral home or offering any gifts.

Junko Hori, the prominent Japanese voice artist was represented by Production Baobab, a voice artist management firm of Japan. She is known for her works in famous roles like Jerry in Tom And Jerry, Bart Simpson from The Simpsons.

She also captured the hearts of the children with her voice for the protagonists in three Fujiko Fujio works, Obake no Q-TarōNinja Hattori-kun, and Chimpui.

Her death was announced over a week later after her demise. Prior to death, she was planning continuing to perform her one-man play, scheduled for November 22 of that year in Ryōgoku, Sumida, Tokyo but died while rehearsing.

Reacting to the death of the voice artist, the fans of the anime are expressing their condolences on social media. Reminiscing the works of the artist, a X user wrote, “May the soul of the late legendary voice actress Junko Hori rest in peace 🙏 Her voice acting performances in Mach GoGoGo / Speed Racer anime series 57 years ago as the voice actress of Kurio Mifune is the best ♥️”

Another user shared a clip of the artist’s work from the show The Thompsons and wrote, “Rest in peace Junko Hori (1935 – 2024).”
