Jin of K-pop supergroup BTS will be the torch bearer of the Paris Summer Olympics 2024. The vocalist will soon depart to France to participate in the Olympic relay. The exact location and schedule for his participation have not been disclosed.
This event will mark his second public appearance, where the vocalist made his comeback last month in the entertainment industry after his South Korean mandatory military service. Even though the reason for the singer’s involvement in the torch relay was not revealed, it likely stems from BTS’ global popularity and the group’s decadelong message of “love yourself”, according to the reports.

With Jin on board as a torch bearer, this Olympics will have around 11,000 individuals, including notable athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of Nice terror attack victims, astronauts, and sanitation workers. The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 27 to August 11, featuring over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports.
The Paris Olympic torch, which was lit in Greece, made its way to France last month. It is projected to traverse over 400 locations, covering approximately 12,000 km before reaching the opening ceremony on July 27.

On the other hand, Jin is reportedly preparing to make an appearance on a TV variety show on the MBC channel in the second half of this year, marking his first official comeback into the entertainment industry since his enlistment in December 2022. In addition to his variety show appearance, he is also gearing up to release a new single in the second half. In a recent message to fans on the K-pop fan community platform Weverse, Jin expressed his excitement to be back in action.
