"Devara" Social Media Reaction: A Mixed Bag Of Praise And Disappointment

Since Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer, directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 hit theatre today, people were anticipating that the movie would create a stir on social media. But a bunch of moviegoers seem disappointed with the film as they expected it to be one of the blockbusters which had already gathered Rs 50 crore in global ticket sales.

Let’s look at what movie lovers have to say: 

An X user wrote: “Not Koratala, but I’m writing this review with fire. Koratala Siva is an outdated director who can’t be encouraged anymore — utter pale writings. The movie would have ended as an above-average flick if it had been made as a solo franchise.” 

Another user wrote on the X platform that the movie is receiving negative reviews everywhere, also, Jr NTR doesn’t seem too impressive along with a lousy VFX editing. He also slammed Koratala Shiva which the director jinxed to take the movie to another level.


Another film enthusiast wrote on X: “Devara movie has bad internal reviews. That’s why it was sold for so little in other languages. Producers r looking to recover as much as possible on Day 1, so they started showing big numbers when BMS data showed very poor sales. Artificial inflation by overhyping using sites seems to be the idea as it’ll be a whitewash after talk comes out.”


On the other hand, Jr. NTR fans praised his performance saying the movie delivers solid mass moments applauding Anirudh’s music from the beginning to the end, the user wrote: “The last few minutes, setting up the sequel, felt a bit underwhelming. Overall, it’s better than decent but falls short of being truly great. Still, with its high points and strong performances combined with a terrific score, it’s a watch that keeps you engaged and entertained.”

Another user wrote about Jr. NTR’s entry in the film along with the background music and mass action that has made horripliation throughout the scenes. The user wrote: Good with some scenes of goosebumps, Jr. NTR is terrific & his entry & title card  & others are good too.”
