Mammootty’s much anticipated movie Bramayugam has released today. Wrapped in mystery and the last-minute controversies, the film has been grabbing headlines ever since its first teaser was out. Bramayugam is showing positive response overall. The Mammootty starrer black and white horror thriller is helmed by Rahul Sadasivan. As usual the most promising and “young” actor of Malayalam has enthralled his audience with yet another virtuoso performance. With all the elements of a menacing villainous character, Mammootty has glistened in the black and white screen with his sinister expressions taking the breath away from audience.

Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan are other surprising factors of the movie. The actors gave their career best performance in the film, said various reviews of the film. Here is how social media responded to Bramayugam. Beyond everything, Mammootty is being celebrated yet again for the star’s conspicuous experimentation on his roles, as he appeared as “devil himself” in the film.

An X user compared Rahul Sadasivan with American actor, comedian and film maker, Jordan Peele, and said that Sadasivan is India’s proud answer to Jordan Peele. The user called Bramayugam, “an absolute terrific folklore horror with brilliant metaphorical layers on power corruption and human greed”. He also praised Mammootty for the star’s “flabbergasting beast of a performance”.

 

One of the Mammooty fans agreed that “We are yet to see what Mammooty is really capable of. His script choices have ben extraordinary ever since COVID 19”. A social media user named Nived said he was not a fan of “Ikka”, his respect button towards Mammootty’s has escalated.

One of the Mammootty fans said that every time he thought Mammootty as an actor “has reached a limit and there is nothing to do and nothing to prove, he comes back with experiments like Rorschach and #Bramayugam. Thank you Mammooka for existing”.

 

Another user was fascinated by the fact a movie was released in black and white, and that too in 2024.

 

Another X user called the movie a “cult classic with a good storyline and a proper screenplay”.

 

A user named Fahir Maithutty listed down Mammootty’s recent works that showing the versatility of the actor. He listed movies done by Mammootty namely Beeshmaparvam, Rorschach, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, Kannur Squad, and Kaathal. He said that when fans might think that the 70-year-old star has given his all, there comes another answer with Bramayugam, “not everything. Not yet”.
