Actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva is all set to perform in his first ever live concert in Chennai on February 22. Days before the concert, actress Srushti Dange announced her decision to walk out of the concert, citing discrimination and bias.
As fans prepare to attend the concert tomorrow, Dange, who was a part of the event, highlighted her issues with the creative team. “I cannot stand for discrimination and leanings,” she said in an Instagram post.
In a strongly worded note, the Chandramukhi actress clarified that she had no qualms with Prabhu Deva but the creative team. Dange said that she respected the choreographer and was looking forward to another collaborative opportunity with him.

Dange wrote, “To all my amazing supporters who were expecting to see me at the Prabhu Deva concert, I am deeply saddened to share that I have decided to walk out of the show. This decision is not directed at Prabhu Deva sir in any way—I have been a huge fan of him and always will be. However, I cannot stand for discrimination and leanings.
The note, which has gone viral all over the internet in no time, also addressed how she felt that her rights were taken away and she was meant to deal with unfulfilled promises.”I don’t need an event to celebrate Prabhu Deva, sir—we will always celebrate him, no matter what. But this could have been a cherished memory, and instead, it ended in disappointment,” she continued.

Clarifying that it was not an apology but a heartfelt take on her struggle, she wrote, “This is not an apology to you all, but rather a heartfelt note to let you all know why I will not be a part of the show. Maybe next time, in a better and healthier, more respectful space, things will be different.”
Dange blamed the concert’s team for their poor planning and organising skills and wrote, “I only wish the creative team had taken more care in planning and respecting the artists involved. This project meant a lot to me, and it’s unfortunate that it had to end on this note.”
Neither the team nor the choreographer has made any official comment on this announcement of the actress.
Prabhu Deva will be performing his first ever live-in dance performance on February 22 at YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, Chennai, organised by Arun Events. Titled Vibe, the show will be directed by Hari Kumar.
