As the news of the separation between AR Rahman and Saira Banu makes headlines since Tuesday, their son, AR Ameen, has refuted the rumors circulating online bridging the star’s separation with bassist Mohini Dey’s divorce.
Even though AR Rahman and Saira requested privacy, the speculation of netizens connecting the Oscar-winning composer’s divorce to the bassist has been flooding social media. Disheartened by the accusations, Ameen made a post reminding the public about the dignity of the musician and have highlighted the importance of respect and truth.

His post read, “My father is a legend, not just for his incredible contributions, but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years.” Expressing his disappointment over the hatred spread against his father, he further wrote, “It’s disheartening to see false and baseless rumors being spread. Let us all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone’s life and legacy.”
Requesting the audience to get refrained from spreading false rumors and accusations, he further added, “Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let’s honor and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us.”

The picture that was attached to his post was the one that Ameen posted on Father’s Day, comparing his dad to a child. Conveying his wishes to his father, he captioned the post, “Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the world love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
He also shared a link to the article reporting that there is no connection between Rahman and Dey’s divorce on his Instagram story.
Rahman and Saira announced their divorce on social media after 29 years of marriage.
The composer’s emotional note read, “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”
