Directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, the Malayalam thriller Identity hit theatres today. Starring Tovino Thomas, Trisha, Vinay Rai, and Archana Kavi, the film has been receiving positive reviews for its experimental nature.
In its review, OTTplay described the film as “technically brilliant and engaging” and praised it for setting new standards for the regional film industry, especially in terms of editing, production quality, cinematography, and action.

While Onmanorama highlighted that although the first half of the film jumps straight into the story, the conclusion feels “slightly extended.”
Reviews praise Tovino Thomas for his impressive performance, showcasing versatility. Trisha Krishnan too delivers a sharp performance, along with Vinay Rai, who offers a standout performance, said Onmanorama.

On the other hand, Lensmenreviews pointed out that Trisha’s character (Alisha), while important to the story, offered minimal opportunity for the actor to perform.
OTTPlay highlighted that while cinematographer Akhil George makes the film visually engaging, the plot is inconsistent, making Identity feel “bloated,” specifically in the second half.
