Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is looking for a ground-breaking advance ticket sale. With only one day to go, the film mainly attracts audiences in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions, apart from creating a buzz in Delhi and Mumbai. The film has sold 1.4 million tickets, which is worth of Rs 38 crore, as per Sacnilk, an industry tracker. Reportedly, the film is expected to deliver an advance sale in the range of Rs 50 crore.

According to Sacnilk, the film will win a domestic debut around Rs 120 crore and Rs 140 crore, and on worldwide level, around Rs 180 crore and Rs 200 crore. It is believed that sci-fi film has a chance of taking up the third position in the history of Indian film industry to record an opening day haul of over Rs 200 crore, after Rajamouli’s RRR and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The latter also starred Prabhas, who owns a special distinction of delivering four of the top 10 biggest global debuts in the history of Indian films.

Andhra Pradesh government has allowed ticket price inflation for the film as it qualifies the ‘super high budget film’, and needed government support to recover the cost. Andhra Pradesh, unlike most states in India, regulated the ticket prices. It has now allowed a Rs 75 hike per ticket in single screens, and a Rs 125 hike per ticket in multiplexes.

The most expensive tickets for Kalki 2898 AD in the city of Hyderabad was sold for Rs 505 excluding taxes on the ticket booking platform BookMyShow. Such high ticket booking was seen during the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Pathaan, which was released last year. In some location in Delhi, the ticket was sold for Rs 2200.

The ticket price for the film is drastically low in Hyderabad when compared to Delhi and Mumbai. In Delhi, the the highest price at which the ticket is being sold is for Ras 1850 before taxes. In Mumbai, audience can buy a ticket for Rs 2000.

Apart from Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also features Amitabh Bhachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani in key roles. The film is scheduled to release on June 27 in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil, in multiple formats including IMAX.
