The pan-India dystopian science fiction, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin is expected to hit a record-breaking opening at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnik, the much-anticipated film could collect as much as Rs 200 crore worldwide on its first day itself. If achieved, the feat will not only be a record for 2024 but would also become the third-best opening day collection of all time.

Starring the biggest names in the Indian film industry, such as Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, among others, the film is gearing up for release on June 27 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX formats.

Even before its release, Kalki 2898 AD is already making numbers, with the advance booking already crossing the 5-lakh ticket mark within two days. As per India Today, the pre-sales business has registered a collection of Rs 16.22 crore already.

With the Telugu market leading with over 2.7 lakh tickets sold, a gross business of Rs 14.5 crore has been collected within the span of two days in the Telugu market. While the Hindi market experienced a slow pace, it has become the second-biggest market for the sci-fi film with a total business of around Rs 1.17 crore in 48 hours.

If the predictions come true, then Prabhas will claim three of the top five biggest openings ever. His highest was Baahubali 2 with Rs 121 crore, Salaar Part 1 with Rs 90.7 crore, and Saaho with Rs 89 crore.
