As reports suggest that AR Rahman might take a break from his career, after his separation from his wife Saira Banu, here is a statement from his daughter Khatija Rahman about this issue. She clarified all the claims, stating those as “useless” and lashed out the netizens to stop spreading  rumours.

The music maestro AR Rahman, who tied the knot with Saira Banu in 1995, announced separation in a joint statement in November this year. Since then, rumors have been making rounds on the career break of the oscar winning composer.

Even though the Aadujeevitham music director didn’t respond to such claims, his daughter Khatija on her X handle addressed the issue by replying to the post which reads, “#ARRahman to take 1 Year Break from Music. Going to miss his Music Badly!!” Responding to this rumor, she replied, “Pls stop spreading such useless rumours.”

Soon after this lash out from Khatija, the netizen deleted the post and commented, “Deleted the tweet for now….will come with the clarification on Monday”

This divorce announcement of the celebrity couple were soon surrounded with rumors and false allegations. Reacting to the overwhelming social media claims, AR Rahman on 23rd of November issued a statement about his decision to file appropriate criminal defamation on offenders.

In the statement issued by his legal team it was advised the hatemongers to remove objectionable content within one hour and a maximum time of 24 hours. The notice also reads, AR rahman will be advised to file appropriate criminal defamation case under section 365 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

On the work front, AR Rahman’s composition Aadujeevitham has been shortlisted for the 2025 Oscars in two categories: Best Original Song and Best Original Score. Recently, the Oscar-winning musician etched a melodious history for his musical magic in the 2024-released biopic Amar Singh Chamkila directed by Imtiaz Ali. The living legend won awards in the categories Best Original Soundtrack and Best Background Music-Web Original.
