Actor Suriya’s extravagant, mighty saga, Kanguva, which stormed the internet and theatres with its grandeur, is all set to conquer minds with its OTT release. Yes, the Siva’s directorial will be streaming on Prime Video. The streaming platform has unveiled its release date today. Check the date here to mark your calendars.

So, the period action drama of Suriya will be making its OTT debut on December 8. Yes, just in two days. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

The film was debuted in theatres on November 14, 2024. Even though the film was praised for its grandeur and spectacular visuals, Kanguva failed to meet the expectations of the audience. However, the film, which was expected to make its OTT presence around Pongal, surprised fans with its early debut on the platform.

Siva’s Kanguva received mixed reviews, and the throbbing sound effects of the film faced backlash. The film soon became the topic of discussion and divided the internet within days of its release as it received criticism from users and many film reviewers.

This, however, led to the Tamil Nadu Film Active Producers Association filing a petition in the Madras High Court asking the state government to ban reviews on social media and YouTube for the first three days after the release of a film. However, the plea was rejected.

The film, which was one of the most expensive films in the country, bagged Rs 106.26 crores on its theatrical run. Apart from Suriya, Kanguva also stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, G. Marimuthu, Ravi Raghavendra, KS Ravikumar, Ravi Raghavendra, BS Avinash, and Deepa Venkat, among others.

The film marked the Tamil debut of Disha Patani and Bobby Deol.
