The Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi movie ‘Merry Christmas’ will be released one week earlier than the previously announced date. The movie will hit the theatres on December 8.
The movie was announced earlier to be screened on December 15. But now, the date has been preponed. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on microblogging site X.

The first look poster was released with the release date as December 23. Later the date was shifted to December 15.
In the most anticipated movie, for the first time Katrina Kaif will share screen with Vijay Sethupathi. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film was shot in Hindi as well Tamil language. His earlier film ‘Andhadhun’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte is one among his directorial masterpieces. Sriram is known for his neo-noir thrillers and this upcoming movie is going to be a suspense thriller with twists.
The first look poster of the film was first shared by Katrina Kaif on her Instagram page captioned, “We decided to cut short the wait for the Christmas cheer!”
In the poster, a text in Hindi was seen near taxi which reads, “Raat jitni sangeen hogi, subah utni rangeen hogi” (The more serious the night, the more colourful will be the morning). Soon after, the movie hero Vijay Sethupathi posted the first look poster of Tamil version of the movie on his Instagram handle.
Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, will be seen in the Hindi version, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams.
