With just a few days left for release, Retro, the upcoming action entertainer of actor Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj, has kick-started its promotion with a grand trailer launch. While the audience is so curious to know more about the film, actor Suriya has revealed the concept of the film and its underlying connections with life.

Produced by Stone Bench Films and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film boasts a stellar cast including Suriya, Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Shreya Saran, and others on board.

More than an actor, Suriya is also a philanthropist and the founder of the Agaram Foundation, the NGO, which sponsors the less-privileged students to complete their college degrees. The actor’s foundation has been improving the lives of students for almost two decades.

During the audio launch, actor Suriya, who believes in life’s magic, asked his fans to believe in life’s magic. He also said that it is important to understand that life is always beautiful, and one shouldn’t be bogged down by a failure or two.

Actor Suriya, who has seen significant ups and downs in his two decades of acting career, said, “Life is very beautiful, and it will give you many beautiful opportunities. You will get second or even third chances, and make use of the lovely opportunities.”

Just as it was mentioned in the trailer and the teaser of Retro, the film talks about “thammam,” the purpose of life. Highlighting this aspect of life, Suriya said that the movie will give the audience an idea of the purpose of life and will help them to find their purpose.

Moreover, the actor pointed to his NGO, the Agaram Foundation, as the purpose of his life. As a heartfelt confession, the actor shared that he was someone who failed every exam in his 10th and 12th classes except for the board exams. Highlighting the life’s magic, Suriya said, “I was an average student in college, and yet, I had the chance to do something in my life. I had the power to facilitate change, and it has resulted in almost 7000-8000 graduates, and counting. All of them who have been part of Agaram in the past and present are shaping the future.”

He also asked his fans and youngsters to take risks and be obsessed with their goals. “Youngsters can take the risk, and they shouldn’t be afraid to do so. You see, passion isn’t enough. Be obsessed. Everyone has a life, and it will be beautiful.”

Scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, Retro is touted to be a high-octane entertainer; the film incorporates the concepts of love, violence, promise, rowdyism, and hooliganism. Creating significant attention among the audience, the makers have dropped a few pulsating songs and an intense trailer. While the film was written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the music was handled by Santhosh Narayanan and editing by Shafiq.
