Ethan Hunt is back. And maybe for his last mission. The trailer for Tom Cruise‘s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is out and has garnered 11 million views on YouTube already. This time, the film will pick up from the events of Dead Reckoning, bringing back long-time cast members Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg along with new recruits Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.
The amazing Angela Bassett is back as CIA Director Erika Sloane after her first appearance in Mission: Impossible—Fallout. Vanessa Kirby will also return, while Hannah Waddingham joins the cast.

Christopher McQuarrie, who has directed every installment in the franchise since Rogue Nation, returns to helm the film.
Deep in the sea, skidding on snowscaped lands, and hanging by a thread (figuratively speaking) up in the air are some of the epic scenes awaiting fans in the possibly final installment. And of course, no Mission: Impossible is complete without Cruise’s now iconic running scene.
Cruise revealed the title and the poster on Monday morning with the caption, “Every choice has led to this.” The eighth film in the Mission: Impossible franchise hints at the final mission.
Taking audience to an adventurous ride of stunts and the intriguing mission, the trailer ends with Tom Cruise saying, “Trust me one last time,” almost as if he’s talking to the fans of the spy franchise that first began its long and exciting journey all the way back in 1996.
Despite impressive reviews, his previous film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, received a disappointing results by earning $570 million at the box office.

Following delays by the pandemic and the SAG-AFTRA actors strike, the film, initially scheduled for a 2022 release, is all set to hit the theatres on May 23, 2025.
As this latest installment is being eyed as a potential franchise conclusion, here’s a look at the three-decade-long history of the spy thriller franchise. The first installment of the sequel was introduced in 1996, expanding the spy universe. The makers produced seven films, so this last mission of Tom Cruise is expected to offer a mind-blowing sendoff to the acclaimed series.
