Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-awaited sequel L2: Empuraan, is gearing up for a massive release. Based on the recent development in it’s distribution front, the film will be released in 700 out of the 777 available screens across Kerala.
The domination of the film in theaters has proven it will be the celebration of the entire state. Thus, it emerges to be one of the biggest releases in the state’s history.

As per the report shared by trade analyst Mohammed Ishan, Empuraan will dominate theatre screens across the state, further fueling expectations among fans.
The prequel of the film, Lucifer, released in 2019, received a massive reception and earned around Rs 127 crore and is currently the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film.
Notably, it was the first Malayalam film to earn more than Rs 200 crore, including its box office collections and the earnings from the sale of its satellite rights and digital streaming rights in other languages. As the prequel set its own records of shattering the box office numbers, the expectations for L2: Empuraan are quite high.

L2: Empuraan, the second installment of the planned trilogy, boasts a stellar cast with Mohanlal in his role as Khureshi Abraam, while Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shashi Kapoor, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Prithviraj, and Saniya Iyyappan reprise their roles from the original.
Exploring politics, crime, and power dynamics, the film was shot in about 20 foreign countries, including the UK, the US, and Russia. The production of the film was wrapped in December last year.
