Netflix has recently published comprehensive viewership data as part of the platform”s major step toward transparency. The report, titled “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report,” lists 18,000 titles line by line on an Excel spreadsheet. The Netflix report includes nearly 100 billion hours viewed between January and June 2023.
‘What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report’, shows the ranks of all of its shows and movies according to the number of hours spent by the viewers. The streaming platform says that the detailed report includes the hours viewed for every title, the premiere date, and whether the title was globally available. “The Night Agent,” the popular action thriller TV series, had the most-watched title with 812.1 million hours of views. Notably, this 10-episode spy thriller series debuted in March.
The comedy-drama ‘Ginny & Georgia’ is in the second position in the Netflix report with over 665 million viewership hours. The Korean drama “The Glory” achieved third place with 622 million hours. “Wednesday”, a popular series, ranked fourth with 507.7 million hours of viewing. It is worth mentioning that this series arrived on the platform in November 2022.

At the same time, no Indian show or movie made it to the top 20 list in the Netflix report. Only eight Indian titles are on the top 1,000 list. The Venkatesh-Rana Daggubati-starrer “Rana Naidu” is ranked at 330 with a watch time of 46.3 million hours. Yami Gautam’s ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ achieved a watch time of 41.7 million hours and is ranked at 395. “Mission Majnu” and Indian Matchmaking: Season 3 were the third and fourth most-watched Indian titles. While “Mission Majnu” earned a watch time of 31.2 million hours, Indian Matchmaking: Season 3 got a watch time of 30.6 million hours.
The streaming platform announced that they would release such reports twice a year. “This is a big step forward for Netflix and our industry,” said the platform while releasing the report. Netflix also said that the information in this report will give creators and the industry deeper insights into their audiences.
