Resul Pookutty, one of the prominent sound designers of the country, made his strong opinion over the issue, claiming that the sound designer’s craft and artistry are always caught up in the “loud” war. Sharing a screenshot of India Today‘s Kanguva review on his social media handle, he wrote, “A friend of mine, a re-recording mixer sent me this clip…It is disheartening to see a review about sound in our popular films like this (sic).”

He continued, “Our craft and artistry caught up in the loudness war… who is to blame?! The sound guy?! or the innumerable fixes comes at the last moment to satiate all insecurities. High time our fraternity to put your foot down and say things loud and clear. No film will have a repeat value if the audience walk out with head ache! (sic).”

The comment section of this post became the arena of the series of complaints and criticisms over the film. One netizen commented that the film raised his blood pressure; he claims, “This film literally raised my BP and it also triggered the Migraine, at one point i thought of leaving the theatre . Never ever in my theatrical visits I thought of leaving the theatre due to bad Sound mixing ,but this film made me too😢.”

Another user also blamed the director and pointed out that his previous films, Vedhalam and Vivegam, also had the same issue. “Even the previous two movies of the same director (vedhalam and vivegam) were also noise pollution and caused me headache.. I literally told the theatre staff in Vedhalam interval to reduce the sound,” read the review.

The soundtrack of the film, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, also received criticism, as it fails to create the composer’s magic. Fans were left disappointed as they hoped to enjoy the mesmerizing effects of the musical genius just like his work on Pushpa 2: The Rule.
