As the cop union Singham Again is set to hit theaters this Diwali, there is an anticipation over the cameo appearance of Salman Khan, specifically in his Dabangg avatar of Chulbul Pandey. However, the recent updates have questioned the potential cameo of the star in the upcoming Rohit Shetty’s directorial.

The announcement over the appearance of Bhai reprising his cop role Chulbul Pandey, along the cops from Shetty’s universe had excited audiences. But the death of NCP leader Baba Siddique has seemingly resulted in the withdrawal of the plan.

A Bollywood Hungama report claimed that Salman was scheduled to film the cameo last week. But the director didn’t feel it right to call the actor on set to film the scene amidst the death of the politician.

As per reports, Rohit Shetty felt that it would be insensitive to call the mourning Salman to film for a scene even though it was a one-day scheduled shot. To make things complicated, the director and the team were scheduled to submit the film for certification to the censor board by last Friday, October 18. With all these factors lined up, the director decided to drop it this time.

The one day shoot of the star was scheduled to take place at Golden Tobacco in Mumbai. However the shoot got cancelled due to the sudden demise of Baba Siddique. After consideration, this decision was taken by Rohit and Ajay Devgn, who felt that it would be insensitive to request Salman to shoot amid all the controversy and threats to his life.

Although Salman’s cameo might not be able to make it into the film, report states that there are chances a backshot of his iconic uniform might make the cut in the post-credits scene.

Former minister and senior NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 in a shocking incident at his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang . Siddique was fired upon by three unidentified individuals, receiving three bullet wounds. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Salman Khan also received a threat from the gangsters saying, “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay Rs 5 crore.”
