The teaser of Mrs, where Sanya Malhotra appears in lead role was released on Wednesday. The film is the Hindi remake of critically-acclaimed Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen, released in 2021.

Mrs will have its world premiere at the 2023 POFF, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival on November 17. Besides, the movie is also contesting at the Critics” Pick Competition category at the festival.

The makers released the official teaser of the movie on social media. The teaser presents Ms Malhotra, an aspiring dancer explores her relationship with food when being married to an orthodox family. The movie partakes into a woman”s search for identity despite being crushed under the household and kitchen chores. She has to cater to the never-ending demands of patriarchy; how she survive through daily struggles pertaining to “complaints” from husband and in-law and finds her self amidst the multiple forces of misogyny and sexism is the core of the story. Makers states Mrs as “a captivating story of strength & resilience.”

The movie was helmed by Arati Kadav who is known for her previous projects such as Cargo, The Astronaut and His Parrot, and 55km/sec. The makers released the offical teaser of the movie on social media.

The movie also stars Nishant Dahiya and Kanwaljit Singh in pivotal roles. Mrs is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Pammi Baweja, and Harman Baweja. It is presented by Jio Studios in association with Baweja Studios.

In its original, the movie was helmed by Jeo Baby and lead role was portrayed by Nimisha Sajayan.

Ms Malhotra”s upcoming movie include Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur.
