As per the reports, the makers have constructed a massive set at the Talamali hilltop in Koraput to recreate the land of Shiva, as it’s logistically difficult to shoot a film of this scale at real locations.
Kashi: A character of SSMB29
As per the reports, the core of the film is deeply rooted in the history of Kaashi. And the plot reportedly revolves around the divine past, which leads to an unforgettable adventure in the present. Since the film holds the history of the land as its core, the land Kashi also serves as an important character of the film.
In order to bring the divine land to the screens, the filmmaker is looking to shoot the film in a hybrid format—at real locations in the forests, as well as at massively mounted sets recreating the monumental places of India.
Unexplored forest land of India and Africa
In the vision to offer an unforgetable visual experience, the RRR director will be exploring some of the most virgin locations of India and Africa. The filmmaker will be offering an extraordinary journey through diverse terrains, dense forests, serene rivers and mysterious caves in his forest adventure film.
Priyanka Chopra joins the crew in Odisha
Blending action, adventure, history and mythology, this film is promised to create a history in Indian cinema. While Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj have already started shooting for the film, Priyanka Chopra is expected to embark on the journey with the team today in Odisha, where key forest sequences are being filmed. The recent Instagram story of the actress also offered a sneak peek at the mesmerizing scenic beauty of the state.

The plot is rumored to feature Mahesh Babu in a role inspired by Lord Hanuman from Hindu mythology. It marks Rajamouli’s first collaboration with Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra and is being produced on a massive budget of approximately Rs 900-1000 crore. The film is planned as a two-part release. The first installment is expected to hit theaters in 2027, followed by the second part in 2029.
