For the unversed, Mukerjea was granted bail by the Supreme Court in 2022, almost seven years after she was arrested by the Mumbai Police for the murder of her daughter. She was arrested after her former driver, Shyamvar Rai, confessed about his involvement his involvement in the case.
The police stated that Bora was Indrani’s daughter from her previous relationship. Her body was found from a village in Raigad district where she was buried. The body was found in a decomposed state and remained unidentified until Rai gave his statement in 2015.
The case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in September 2015 who booked Peter Mukerjea, the ex-husband of Indrani. The CBI claimed that the couple was unhappy with Bora’s relationship with Rahul, Peter’s son from his last marriage.
