After the 2022 blockbuster Hridayam, they are back with a new movie: Varshangalkku Shesham. The trailer for the period romantic drama film, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, is out today.

From the looks of the trailer, the film follows the lives of two best friends, played by Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, who have a dream of becoming artists in the world of cinema. They reach all the way from home to a place called Kodambakkam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Hardships, struggles, love, and betrayal are all weaved into the story, set against the backdrop of cinema in the 1980s.

The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Dhyan Sreenivasan in an older look as he takes us on the journey of the film. Actor Nivin Pauly, too, has an extended cameo in an exciting role.

Son of singer-composer Bombay Jayashri, Amrit Ramnath has composed the music for the film, marking his debut feature film composition. Moreover, the record label that had previously collaborated with Vineeth on Hridayam, Think Music, has been brought onboard to distribute the film’s soundtrack.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to X (formerly Twitter) to launch the trailer for the film.

If Vineeth Sreenivasan’s reunion with the team of his hit film Hridyam can be taken as a sign, then it would be fair to say that Varshangalkku Shesham is going to be a treat to watch for fans all over.

The movie, starring Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Basil Joseph, among others, is produced and distributed by Visakh Subramaniam for Merryland Cinemas.

The jam-packed entertainer is set to release on April 11. Until then, have a look at the trailer:
